12 Week Ultrasound!

Last Friday, March, 25th, Bibi and I had our 2nd ultrasound! It was truly a miraculous moment for us! Our last ultrasound looked more like a blob with a heartbeat - which was amazing at that point, but this appointment was much different. Our baby has grown so much! We saw the little profile (Bibi swears he/she has my nose!!), we saw it moving all around - even though I can't feel it yet and it even had little hiccups! It was so cute! It even fell asleep in the middle of our ultrasound so she had to push on my belly to try and wake it up. She finally woke it up and got to measure the length. Pregnancy is such a miracle! I still have a hard time believing that there is a living human growing in me, but feel so blessed every time I get to see the ultrasound! I can't wait to feel it kick! Below are some pictures of our healthy little baby! Dr. K said that I am really healthy and so far it has been a really easy pregnancy! Thanks be to God!

My New Doctor at Saddleback Memorial Hospital

So when we were starting to consider having children, I knew I had to find a good doctor. I've heard nothing but good things about Orange County Women's Medical Group (<---- click there if you want to read more) at Saddleback Memorial in Laguna Woods. There were so many good doctors to choose from, so I did a little research and found Dr. Kaminskas  (<---- Click there to read more about Dr. K - she has a little video at the bottom of her page)- Bibi and I had our first appointment a few weeks ago and decided that if we didn't like her, we can choose another. She instantly was honest, straight forward and comforting. She was great! So we decided to stick with her. I feel very comfortable at this hospital and love that they have a special group - just for women!! Oh and did I mention that Saddleback is right by a Nordstrom Rack??

My second appointment is tomorrow - it is our second appointment and second ultrasound! I am very excited and have been looking forward to it for a few weeks now. Apparently we can see a more detailed picture of the baby. I will post some pictures this weekend! Be praying that little baby Pham is healthy and on the right track! :)

Love you guys!

Home Sick - Head Cold

Yesterday, I came down with a cold and last night it was really hard to sleep - it felt like every hour I was up blowing my nose, tossing and turning... so I stayed home from work today. I think I got a cold because people come to work sick thinking that they feel good enough to work, but don't think about being contagious. :(

Nonetheless it was nice to have a day of rest at home. I rested, went to Trader Joes to get some soup and ended up picking up a ton of other groceries we needed. I've always wanted to roast a small chicken for dinner, but always forget to buy one...so i ended up buying a small whole chicken and wanted to roast it with potatoes and carrots. I found a great recipe in the Bride and Groom First Cookbook. It was so easy! It is roasting right  now, so I really hope it turns out. I have some fresh rosemary growing in my back yard so I stuffed a couple sprigs from that and then added lemon wedges, seasoned it with salt and pepper, cut up some onions, carrots and potatoes brushed everything with butter and that's it! I'll update with some pictures of the final product! It is smelling yummy in the oven - so that's a good sign!

I wanted to post some pictures of my spring inspirations that I recently put up around the house. Today was such a beautiful day... it rained off and on and right now it is sunny and crisp outside - all the flowers are in full bloom and the birds are singing... such a great time of year in California. The best is driving around with the sunroof open with little wisps of fresh crisp air and the warm sun warming your face.

My First Blog

Welcome to my first blog! I hope to keep everyone updated through this... so check back regularly as I will hopefully be able to find time to post new pictures and updates! So as you are reading this... you probably know that we we are PREGNANT and is the main reason why I am starting a blog. We are so excited!

Here's a little bit of an update on our life and what leads up to this... a little less than a year ago, we bought out first home in Ladera Ranch, CA. We waited a long time for it - around six months. It was a short sale, but after the long wait, God blessed us with a beautiful home! I've been slowly decorating it and working on the yard. We've been traveling a lot - went home (Crested Butte, CO) for Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time with Mama and Roggie; next month we headed to Hawaii for Christmas with Bibi's entire family - aunts, cousins, brothers, sisters, grandpa and grandma - there were around 30 of us! It was a lot of fun! We had great weather while the rest of the country was freezing. Maui is one of my favorite places to go - it has a perfect balance of rest and choices for being active.

Christmas day

End of January, I went to New York for the NY Gift Show to shop for mama's store (Casa Bella). It was the ultimate girls trip! Mama, Aunt Rhonda, Laura (Casa Bella's interior designer) and my sister, Sparrow - Even Annika, my sister was able to come down from Conneticut to visit for a couple of days. Although it was freezing, we were still able to walk around, eat at some fantastic restaraunts and see Mary Poppins on Broadway! (more pictures to come from NYC... haven't downloaded yet).

When I got back from New York, California was nice and sunny - warm weather... I sat on the front porch to literally defrost. I was supposed to have my period in New York, but never got it (I just thought I was behind schedule), but when I got back to California, Bibi said that I shouldn't assume that I'll start any day now... so the next morning I took a pregnancy test and found out that I was pregnant!! I texted Bibi a picture while he was at Bible study because I wanted him to have the same suprise I had after taking the test. He called me back and asked if it was a joke... I assured him it wasn't and he was so happy.

We had our first Doctor's appointment a few weeks ago and the doctor told us that I am really healthy and the baby is healthy! Praise God! We were able to see the heart beat and at that moment, I realized that there really was something in there! We got our first ultrasound pictures - see below.

I have had a wonderful pregnancy so far! I haven't had any morning sickness, no weird cravings or anything... just feeling more tired than usual. My next appointment is this coming Friday, March 25th. I'll be sure to post some more pictures after that!
